Verizon Note 3: When will we have KitKat?

I just want it so that I can factory reset my phone and set it up the way I want it for at least the next 6 months or so.

Knowing an update is eminent really just... I don't want to do much setup as far as apps/accounts/etc. cause I always factory reset after a firmware update. I rather do it once than twice, Lol.

I just read that the HTC One Max is getting their upgrade starting tomorrow, even though it came out after the Note 3..... (listens closely for aneurysm across the interwebbies)

Honestly, is it really that big a deal? Of the kit kat features I've seen nothing has blown me away. My phone is pretty close to perfect as is, who needs an update?

I would like an update just because I like new things. I am happy with my phone the way it is though.

Kit Kat will improve the performance of the device (and it's already fast, so faster will certainly be amazingly better), update the camera firmware (better camera... I'll take that), and I like the lock screen camera shortcut without having to have a whole row of icons on my lock screen. Kit Kat also allows us to use some updated Samsung Apps (like S Note) that need 4.4.x to install/update themselves.

The Global Mobile Printing support is also very useful.

As always, the usefulness of the update isn't only about what blows you away. What you don't need, others may.

Ehhh.

You don't have to have a whole row of icons on your lock screen, you can just put the camera on there by itself already.

Yes. But then it looks unsightly.

Therefore it's an all or nothing proposition with me.

The Kit Kat lock screen is simply superior. I can add a swipe to camera widget in TouchWiz as well but I don't want the either.

One of the main things I'd want would be a more malleable lock screen with widgets as an option for pattern unlocks, but evidently that's not gonna happen.

Developers are making work arounds to the Kit Kat SD card issue so I'm less against 4.4 in general these days. Just hoping the bugs are squashed when it arrives.

I only use my SD for media storage so I don't care about that really. TouchWiz has a system level file manager.

I just want it to come so I can factory reset and feel comfortable setting up all the stuff on my phone.

Maybe the hold up is so they have time to update to the new os??

It would be nice to get Kit Kat. Found out the hard way today my new Gear Fit is useless until my Verizon Note 3 gets it. I never read anything in all the pre-release stuff it had to have Kit Kat :(

Wow that's a huge bummer brother. Verizon needs to get going fast.

Kitkat fixes some bluetooth issues as well.

I have no bluetooth issues and use it in my car, earpiece, watch, and headphones. I've never had wifi problems anywhere on any router. I enjoy complete access to my SD card. I don't believe they will make camera noticeably better. I could care less about lockscreen widgets and I use a pin. Obviously, I don't want Kitkat.

Just an FYI update.

My friend, who has a Note 2 on VZW, and myself, got out Gear Fits yesterday. As I stated, mine wouldn't work with my Note 3. I saw her this morning. She has her Fit running just fine with her N2. Come to find out, she is still running on Android 4.3, like me. She took my phone, installed Gear Fit Manager app on it (I had the Gear Manager installed) and proceeded to sync up my Fit with my Note! Works just fine.

Yesterday I had fired off an email to Samsung support inquiring about the Kit Kat upgrade and my displeasure that my Fit didn't work with my phone. I received a response from them this afternoon:

No way... that is just bogus! Mine arrived today and is waiting for me at home. I guess I don't have much to look forward to then! Thanks Verizon...
