Verizon Note 4 2GB update available via Kies

I've checked Kies for the last three days and still nothing. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do?

It could be that the update was removed from the update servers, or wherever Kies pulls from for firmware. I know for sure I saw a new firmware in Kies, and Sammobile also posted it. Checked again this morning, and its not there in Kies. Perhaps the update was pulled.

Then I'll just wait for 5.1.1

Yes, I think thats a good plan. Not clear what the supposed new update provides or fixes. Once more is known it may make sense to do so, but until then waiting is perfectly fine.

Crazy thing is, when I connect my USB cable and fire up Kies I can see the Build # of the new update pop up for a quick second and then it goes back to the BOAF Firmware and says I'm running the latest Firmware. Haven't tried the VZW Software Update program again but will when I get off in the morning.

I just started receiving an OTA system update. I'm betting it's probably this same one discussed here. I'll update my post if I see anything different.

I downloaded the update possibly as an excuse to factory reset the phone to get rid of this horrid lag I have from time to time.

Here's an excerpt from that AC article:
Verizon has only listed a few small additions.

  • Fingerprint for EAS Authentication - adds fingerprint as a device security lock option while an Exchange Active Sync (EAS) account is active on the device.
  • Add Milk Music as preload on home screen.
  • Galaxy Apps Auto Install - triggers Galaxy Apps to install when user signs into Samsung Account for the first time.
Since I do not use Fingerprint, that's okay

There is a logo of the letter M in my apps drawer, so I'm assuming it's the Milk Music. It's not on my home screen which is good.

The Auto Install is disabled and I do mine manually.

Also during the update I noticed a window that stated [ Optimizing app ### of 293 ]. Will see how the "optimizing" of apps fare in the seconds, minutes, days, weeks, months ahead.

So far to me the software feels the same. There is only minor changes. The dialer has lines perpendicular. Some apps look rounded like th pen up app. Other than that nothing really major. Besides what the gentleman said right above me☝
