Verizon NOW Allows Note Edge Rebate for Note 8 Purchase.

For the Note 8 rebate program, Verizon has a long list of phones offering from 50% to 25% rebate when traded in for a new Note 8.

Among these phones is also the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which qualifies for 25% discount.

But Note Edge is noticeably missing from the list. Why?

Why Exclude Note Edge when:
1) Note Edge and Note 4 came out around the same time.
2) Note Edge was considerably more expensive than Note 4.
3) Note Edge is based on Note 4. It's the Edge version of Note 4.
4) Note Edge at the time of purchase was the most expensive Samsung phone to date.

So Why are we being excluded from rebate for a new Note 8?

I am sure it must be an oversight and I hope VZW will correct it.

Probably because the Note Edge wasn't as popular as the Note 4. They are taking these phones as trade ins and it's likely the Note 4 will be able to be resold faster then the Note Edge could.

That maybe part of the decision, but who is going to buy a refurbished Note 4 in the US at VZW? Unless they ship them to other countries but would people pay $250 in any country for a used old phone? Note Edge is being sold on ebay for 150 to 175 and it was almost 900 upon release.

These rebates are basically about making it easier for people to afford expensive phones and there is no argument that says keep the Note 4 and ditch the Note Edge. I think it was an oversight and it can be reversed.

A campaign has started to get VZW to add the Note Edge to the list of rebate phones for the Note 8.
They allow 25% for Note 4, they should do the same for the Note Edge.

But it's not being given away for free just as you've seen yourself the the Note Edge isn't being given away for free. Sure the Note Edge was a $1000 phone at the time it was released but that means nothing when the phone wasn't a popular phone. I'm still positive that is why Verizon has not included it in this offer.

they don't buy old phones to sell them at the stores. they buy them as an incentive for people to upgrade. No one cares about old phones in the US.
