Verizon offering a minimum $100gc for smartphone trade in

Any do the trade in? Is it good for $100 at least for any smartphone such as a droid pro or thunderbolt etc?

In addition, I would say $100 is a good offer for either of those two phones you mentioned.

So how come when I checked my old BlackBerry Storm it shows $5.00?

Because to get the $100 gc, you need a code that will be emailed to you after you purchase a phone. My guess is the code isn't emailed to you until the 14 day return period has past.

Does the smartphone have to be a verizon smartphone?

Iirc, the terms say any smartphone. I haven't tried a Verizon trade in but I did one with best buy and they let me trade in a brand spanking new vm branded phone (i picked it up no contract for $20,and got a $100 gc).

my radio shack would not sell me one without activating it and buying minutes. Is this typical?

Say that you are buying it for a gift... Worth a shot. I have bought prepaid phones without activation, though it just depends. When I got my Samsung Galaxy victory for free, they made me activate it, so it really cost me around $8 with taxes and fees and the service before I canceled.

I did they said that they couldn't do it. I reminded them that best buy does and that these were sold on their website, but they still wouldn't do it.

Next time a deal like that comes along, I will order from the website. I didn't realize it would be such a problem in the store.

I think it's 3/31 which someone else mentioned but the info on the website kinda leads me to think the date is for IPhones. Don't think it's clearly enough stated myself.

Might do this to trade in my BB Storm and/or Razr Maxx as i'm looking at the Note 3.

Thank you for all the helpful info!

Has anyone tried trading 2 phones with the promo? I'm trading my moms old phone in but I have another 2 smartphones lying around that arent worth selling, be nice to get 2 free months or so.
**update** silly me i decided to just try it...promo only has one use!

Does anyone know if the smartphone purchase has to be done directly through Verizon in order to qualify for the $100 trade in offer? I'm buying a new phone within the next week, and I want to buy it from BestBuy but I still want to be eligible for the trade in offer.

yes, it must be done directly through verizon to activate the offer.

Best buy has the $50 gift card offer so sign up for that.

Thanks for the info. I did sign up for Best Buy's offer. The Note 3 is $299 on Best Buy and $199 on Verizon. So I wanted to try and get the $100 offer from Verizon. Oh well!

I would see if they will apply the VERIZON30, TECHBAR or VZWDEAL over the phone along with signing you up for the gift card promo. Some have had success with that but the codes may have expired. The first code gets you 30% off and the second two $50 off.
