If there is a charge to activate just swap SIMSfor those who have received their note 10s unlocked. anyone have any issues using it on Verizon? I'm picking mine up at bestbuy tomorrow. I currently have the s9+, should I just swap out sim cards? or should I have bestbuy "activate" it?
No issues. I popped in my verizon sim from the note 9 and done. Didn't have to do anything else.for those who have received their note 10s unlocked. anyone have any issues using it on Verizon? Awesome! Thank you. I'll go ahead and just swap Sims. Bb kept insisting I should activate at the store. No issues. I popped in my verizon sim from the note 9 and done. Didn't have to do anything else.
How about getting HD voice to work? I don't see an option to enable advanced calling, and when I call another phone on Verizon that has HD voice, I don't get the icon on the call screen that says the call is HD voice, but they do on their end...
You generally can't add insurance to an unlocked device on Verizon but I did notice in the past that if you just swap SIMs the insurance stays. Question is will they honor it. I'm thinking they would honor it on a Verizon model even purchased elsewhere but I'm not so sure about unlocked.I'd like to know this too...
Also, what about protection plan through Verizon from asurion, does it transfer to an unlocked device?
Getting a Verizon Carrier model even after it's unlocked is not the same as fully unlocked from Samsung. Verizon adds a few apps that can only be disabled but not uninstalled. They also block some Samsung apps or features. One example is Find My Mobile which is more feature rich than Google's Find My Device.Verizon is by default, unlocked. Well, sorta. Verizon just got a waiver from the FCC allowing them to keep the phone locked up to 60 days after purchase.
Several Verizon stores were robbed; some of them were armed robberies in broad daylight. I can't blame Verizon for asking the FCC for the 60 day waiver.

I am noticing that my unlocked N10+ is not showing up on my Verizon account
it just a generic outline of a phone . I thought it might pick up what I am using
I too am not sure about the insurance and not seeing a clear answer above

Many people buy the unlocked model for various different reasons like no bloat, carrier not removing OEM features etc. It's not just because it's sim unlocked.Verizon is by default, unlocked. Verizon didn't say anything about fraud. It's was about its stores being robbed. Several of them were ARMED robberies in broad Daylight. Many people buy the unlocked model for various different reasons like no bloat, carrier not removing OEM features etc. It's not just because it's sim unlocked.
I don't buy the Verizon story of oh we lock it for 60 days because of fraud etc. I don't trust anything the carriers say![]()
Anyway it's Verizon version they can do whatever the hell they want since we have the option to buy unlocked model.
It's just a BS excuse to stall people from jumping to another carrier. The Verizon models sold direct or through others have the same restrictions.Verizon didn't say anything about fraud. It's was about its stores being robbed. Several of them were ARMED robberies in broad Daylight.

Locking the phones for 60 days will reduce the chance of robberies because the robbers can't sell them as quickly or at all.
