I have a Verizon branded phone I'm considering trading in but Verizon phones have a 60 day lock. I'm going to assume this will be a issue for trading in to Samsung. If the lock goes from day of activation the lock should come off Feb 14th. I don't use the phone, I just got it for back up.

I read mixed information on this, but from what I can see the phone doesn't need to be active on Verizon for 60 days, just needs to be activated and it's 60 days after the activation date.

I have the s25+ ordered but I'm thinking maybe I should cancel the order. Timeline I should get new phone 7th, so the phone should unlock in time for sending in to Samsung for their timeline, plus I can extend that if need be.

Yes the phone being carrier locked doesn't affect your ability to trade in the phone. Hell it could have devices payments and they'd still accept the trade .
