Verizon Pixel 4 trade in deal Question

I see the Galaxy s4 is included. I have one in my drawer and it seems like getting $450 for it would be a great deal. I don't really want to get the pixel 4 but this seems like too good to pass up.
My question is, do you think I will get anything close to $450 for my Galaxy s4 if I wait until BF to get the S10 or note 10?

That's not bad at all , how does Verizon do it with credit to the bill or gift card ?

It's not just about leaving Verizon, you also can't upgrade your phone or pay it off early, you're stuck with it for 24 months or you risk losing however many bill credits are remaining.

24 months is fine with me. In fact, I don't even upgrade that often at times. To me a phone is a device for communication and work. The smartphone market is pretty mature, we don't get a lot of changes even in 24 to 36 months that make it a big deal. I am perfectly happy to wait at least 24 months for an upgrade.

For the ever growing smaller group that upgrade more often this will not work for them. Use the option that works for you. Me I am fine with bill credits.

When I went to Verizon on Sunday. The Sales Associate told me that I would only be able to get the $450.00 deal was if I selected a new data plan. Otherwise she told me the value on my original Pixel (Not XL) would only bring me 15.00 dollars.

Since I have a grandfathered data plan she said I would be best off in sticking with that as I have unlimited everything. It was explained to me that if I was to select a new data plan to take advantage of the 450.00 my phone bill would go up 20 dollars more a month and I would completely lose my 15% discount I get every month through my place of employment,

It was also explained to me that if I did decide to go with a new pixel, I could give a down payment of whatever I wanted to lower the extra amount that would otherwise appear on my monthly statement. But...... I was also told I could pay it off at any time and I would be free to get another phone if I decided the pixel was not for me without being penalized for it.

As I wanted to Pixel 4 (Non XL) and I am hearing nothing but bad things about the battery, I may be sticking with my original pixel until something worthy of upgrading to comes along. If I have to wait another 4-5 months, so be it.

The deal I read from Verizon stated I would need to upgrade my plan to an unlimited one in order to get any discount. Is that what this thread is about?
I looked at the P4 at BB and only had black. That would not be my first choice for sure. Terrible looking Backside.

Ok, rechecked their site and it looks like a new UL line is
required to get the discount.
As quoted from their pixel deal page below.

Up to $999.99 device payment purchase per phone w/one new smartphone line req’d. 2nd phone must be of equal or lesser value: Less $800 promo credit applied to account over 24 mos; promo credit ends if eligibility req’s are no longer met; 0% APR

So is it worth getting the pixel4 just to take advantage of the $450 for the Galaxy s4? Or wait until black Friday and hope there is still some value in trading in the s4?

And that was the reason I couldn't get more than $200! So I need to apologize to the rep I ripped earlier. I could get $450 for my trade, but ONLY if I switched to an unlimited data plan, which I told her I didn't want to do. Most of my time is spent in WiFi, so my brother and I have a 4GB data plan, which we've yet to go over. So cost wise the difference between our plan and an unlimited one would evaporate the savings I'd get from that deal. I forgot about that!

Yeah would be more costly for sure if I had to switch. Don't want or need a UL plan. Not much of a deal, for them maybe.
To much dough for me and not enough of an upgrade anyway to justify a purchase when my pixel 2 still works like brand new. I'll be passing

Got the $450 credit for an old Moto phone sitting in my drawer that I forgot about it. I doubt there will be a much better deal moving forward.
You could buy some of the older phones for next to nothing and trade them in for $450 rather than a year old phone. Kept my Pixel 2 XL so I can use it around te house for a ton of things...

BTW, the 4 XL seems great, Face Unlock is better than I thought, Battery life seems great as well (too early to post number) just glad I upgraded

Have a question.....I did an upgrade with Verizon, got the $450 credit. I received my 4xl the other day and it already had a SIM card in it when I activated it. So do/should I send the SIM card that is currently in my 2 back to Verizon when I send the old phone back?? I've wiped the phone back to factory settings.

I signed up for it. It is a good deal if you don't plan on leaving.

Add to that you don't plan on upgrading prior to 24 months and want an unlimited plan. For me, switching to an unlimited plan would cost more than it would save me over the 24 month period, since I assume Verizon won't let you drop unlimited until after the 24 month period ends.

I am not sure.

I am not sure.

That's going by how Verizon has been in the past. Generally, they won't let you change anything when you get monthly bill credits. No changing the plan, the phone, you can't even pay it off early. IMHO it's actually more restrictive than the old 2 year contracts.

That's weird.... I came off the grandfathered plan two years ago to their newer unlimited plans and it was still cheaper without corporate discount.

They don't need the SIM card

I wish that was the case with me but I've been to 2 different Verizon and I didn't explain what I was told at the previous Verizon to see if what was explained was different but it wasn't

Mine may was reduced but two out of three people were on the grandfathered plan. Now we all have unlimited with that data cap where they can throttle your speed.
