Verizon/Pixel warranty exchange?

I've come to the conclusion I have a bad phone or something. On a daily basis I'll call someone or they'll call me, and either them or I won't be able to hear the other person though not visa versa. After an immediate redial everything will be fine.

I know I'll be on the phone for an hour while they try to "trouble shoot" it, check settings etc, then have me use gthe phone and let them know if it's still happening/

Any ideas on their being amenable to a warranty swap?

Are you paying the monthly $8 or $9 warranty plans

Nope.

Monthly insurance is fine if you're worried about lost/stolen/dropped calls, but many fail to realize that almost all devices carry a manufacturer warranty. It's just a matter of who takes care of it, Verizon or Google.

Some may wish to argue whether it's covered without paying for the additional insurance, so I'll just report here what is in the owners manual that came with the phone that Verizon sold me.

But back to the question - is the aforementioned (I don't get to use that word much) issue in my OP a valid warranty item or are they going to give me a hard time?

I'm also now thinking they'll tell me that it must be one of my apps that's ruining their phone, and that I should uninstall all my apps one by one until the problem is fixed

A Google search shows me that many others have had similar problems, or either the call is dropped or it that the person on the other end can no longer hear them

I have a similar problem. Despite who calls who, periodically I lose audio. I can't hear them but they can hear me. I usually have to hang up and call back. Sometimes, it happens within a few minutes, others a few seconds. I just went and switched my sim card to make sure it wasn't a faulty sim card. I bought my pixel at Verizon, but I'm using it on AT&T.

My phone also says LTE but when iake a call it drops to hspa+. I wonder if that's part of the problem. I'm going to call Att support in the morning and see if that may fix it. Otherwise I'm going to call Google and see if I can get this fixed/replaced. I'm using a Pixel 128GB

I can't believe I forgot to mention this, I always use a Bluetooth headset, so I couldn't even tell you if it happens without Bluetooth

Can you try to use the phone without Bluetooth to see if the phone is still having the same issue? I just want to eliminate all possible causes of the issue.

I guess I should, I don't like to because I'm on my phone a lot but I will today

Dropped calls, bad call audio and related issues are common with the Pixel.

Ultimately you'll be asked to factory reset and set up as a new device. If it still happens in that state, it would point to a hardware defect and would be replaced per warranty, as long as there is no physical or liquid damage.

I'm starting to think it's the dreaded Bluetooth issue. Yes, I have the most recent version of Android installed
