I'll start this till they make a sticky.

I have a question, has anyone heard if Verizon is going to be doing the same trade in as Samsung, $700 for a note 10+…

Doesn't look like it.

https://www.droid-life.com/2020/02/...-orders-open-tonight-here-are-the-best-deals/

1) Buy a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G or Galaxy S20+ 5G and get $1,050 towards another Galaxy S20, when you add a new line and purchase the phone on a Verizon Device Payment plan. (Stacks with #2 $150 offer)

2) New and existing customers can save an additional $150 when you buy a new Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G. This discount is given in 24 month bill credits. (Stacks with #1 BOGO offer or #3 $300 offer))

3) Existing customers can save up to $300 if you upgrade to a new Galaxy S20 and trade-in your existing smartphone and have an active Verizon Unlimited plan. (Stacks with #2 $150 offer)

4) Samsung is also offering up to $200 in Samsung credit when you preorder a Galaxy S20+ 5G or Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. You can redeem the offer using the Shop Samsung application. (Stacks with all offers)

5)Finally, if you purchase a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G or S20+ 5G on Verizon and have a Verizon Unlimited plan, you get a free six months subscription to the Hatch streaming game service. Hatch is a new way to game, giving you instant access to 100+ premium games in one made-for-5G app. (Stacks with all offers)

Well that sucks. That means I might have to go thru best buy or Samsung direct. Both have advantages and disadvantages. Best buy can trade phone in direct and get approved for trade in right away, but their delivery of pre-orders are bad at best, possibly losing the gift certificate. Samsung, get the promotion, but have to send trade in to them and hope they don't play games like they have in the past.

Someone said in the other thread you get the trade in credit up front through Samsung.

I'm currently using an old Pixel XL, so it's not even a trade in option. Most of Verizon's deals only count if you're using Unlimited, which I'm not doing either (I just don't use that much data since I'm on Wifi most of the time). But, the $150 off the S20+ makes it so it's now $350 cheaper than the Ultra (I'm surprised Verizon wouldn't be doing promotion #2 on both phones). I want the Ultra, but at that price difference I'm considering the Plus model instead.

You do. Verizon would probably do the monthly credits for the trade in, meaning if you pay it off early you lose your trade in credit locking you into a 2 year contract.

What do you mean by "Samsung, get the promotion, but have to send trade in to them and hope they don't play games like they have in the past."?

There have been reports of people sending in their trade in's and Samsung denied the trade in saying it doesn't qualify, phone damaged, ECT. The people had pictures proving otherwise, but didn't matter. I traded in to Samsung last year with no issues. So, that's what I mean.

Trade in process was very smooth for the Note 10, except for one story here of someone who didn't remove the accounts properly

I though for the most part during Note 10 trades the horror stories were minimal.

I'm on Verizon but decided to go unlocked from Samsung.com this year to try something new

I didn't trade in my phone, I sell them locally for more than the trade in so it works out :)
