So my home has really crappy service but not enough to put me Into roaming thus I wouldn't meet Verizon's criteria for wifi calling. Is there a way around this? Can I change some settings somewhere that says whenever I am on a given wifi network, default to WiFi calling? I know Hangouts gives me the ability to WiFi call, but id like a more streamlined approach to incoming calls. Thanks

Setting roaming as the criteria makes no sense to me. If you're roaming you (most likely) don't have access to wifi so using that as a trigger seems weird. Will be watching this thread for an answer also.

So on Verizon you cant use Wi-Fi calling at all unless your roaming or they allow it. Thats crappy. That's why I moved all 6 lines from Verizon.

Did some digging and testing real quick and it seems on Verizon the only way so far is to enable airplane mode when you are at home, then turn on wifi, then it will work.....useless....

What other providers allow more flexibility over this feature?
T-Mobile. You can choose the preferred method obviously but what's nice is if the signal goes above -105db (that numbers a rough estimate) it will automatically kick in. No need for roaming or anything to activate it. The bad thing about wifi calling though is it uses more battery than a regular call from what I've seen. I only toggle it on it really bad places which around here there aren't many.

Interesting....do they offer incentives to buy out contracts or device agreements? No contract here but just obligated to the 20/mo for G6 at verizon. I had called them and threatened to leave and they threw some more data at me,so I gave up for a bit

I know last week they announced they would pay off your Verizon device and let you keep it but I think that only applied to iPhones and pixels. Best bet it to visit a T-Mobile store and see what they say. I assume you're outside your return period at Verizon?

If I put my phone in airplane mode it does not allow wifi calling after enabling wifi. I get a message to take it off airplane mode to use wifi calling. I'm using a V20 on Verizon so I don't know if the G6 is set up differently.
