Nobody in their wrong mind would argue that point.

Building and maintaining America's largest 4G LTE network certainly isn't cheap and they are a business, and in business to make money. I understand the new tiered system as it stands today, as a way of future proofing their ability to make money off their network. But to alienate its long term customers who have had unlimited data since it's inception, just seems like a bad move to me... My first smartphone, and which wasn't very smart, was the Motorola Q. I understand the need for limits, but I don't appreciate them being forced on the customers who paid the money you used to build this shiny new network.

It was BS when texting plans cost $20 unlimited for sending out 5KB messages
Well the last time the Verizon rep came to my door and twisted my arm til I signed a contract I thought they was in business to make me happy.
Are you seriously trying to say they are in business to make money, and that as a tax paying American citizen I am not entitled to an unlimited data plan.
I thought a constitutional amendment had been passed recently entitling me to anything I want at any price I feel like paying.
I don't want to lose my unlimited data either, but Verizon is going to do what they feel is best for the company, at that point I will either pay for that service or pay someone else to provide it.
Verizon isn't number one because of stupid decisions, I'm sure they know that if they do this they will lose customers, but to do so they must be pretty dam sure they will still come out ahead in the long run or they wouldn't even consider it.

As we have stated publicly, Verizon Wireless has been evaluating its pricing structure for some time. Customers have told us that they want to share data, similar to how they share minutes today. We are working on plans to provide customers with that option and will introduce new plans later this year.
When the new options are introduced, Unlimited Data will no longer be available to our customers purchasing handsets and signing a new contract. Customers who choose to purchase phones at full retail price and are currently on an unlimited smartphone data plan will be able to keep that plan. The same pricing and policies will apply to all 3G and 4GLTE smartphones.
We will share specific details of the plans well in advance of their introduction so customers will have time to evaluate the plans and make the best decisions for their wireless service. It is our goal and commitment to continue to provide customers with the same high value service they have come to expect from Verizon Wireless.
Full price phones for the win! Full price handsets are still cheaper than paying the data charges monthly... The key here is to not be fooled by a big initial data offering, and only to have them lower those amounts at a later time. Don't lose your unlimited plan! I am officially happy with that clarification.

I'll be using my tbolt for a few more years, unless I can save $800 for a new phone.
At 60gb/mo it takes 1-2 months of tiered data charges to make it worthwhile for me.Full price phones for the win! Full price handsets are still cheaper than paying the data charges monthly... You'll still be paying data charges monthly... now you get to add a one-shot full price phone to that. You don't really think VZW is going to lower their monthly charges just because they wont be subsidizing a phone over a two year contract, do you?
What do you think this is? Tmo?
Ha! ...and 60GB? great googly moogly!
