Verizon s10+ Sudden super fast battery drain

Yesterday I've been noticing that my s10+ battery was getting unusually warm. This happened to me before. My assumption was a rouge app was still running in the background... So I would simply turn off the phone and problem would be fixed.

This time, that wasn't the case. After rebooting, 10 mins not using the phone, the battery is still warm and is also draining the battery at an alarming rate. Leading me to assume that the phone is still running while it was in sleep mode.

I went into device care, optimized the phone... Checked the phone again.. same problems... I even wiped cache partition via holding down the 3 buttons... It didn't solve the problem...

So I figured let me try another test. I fully charged the phone before I went to sleep and see how much battery I would have when I wake up... I was shocked to find out that I went from 100% to 20% overnight... Roughly in 6 hrs.

Any idea what I can do to fix this? TIA

Just pulled it off the charger.

It says 99% 9hr 54min. Usually it tells me that I can get 2 days worth of juice...

Download a app called accubattery and show us when it gets to 20 percent its stat and device care .

Strange... After DLing the app and following the onscreen instructions... The battery is cold now and battery drain is back to normal. It dropped to 99% after full charge and 10 min or so of sending text messages...

Does AccuBattery fix bugs?!? If so, this app is a life changer!

When this happens, it's helpful to look at the battery stats to see if there's any app or service that's using an inordinate amount of battery. Also, GSam Battery Monitor can also be helpful to check your cell signal strength -- poor signal can lead to increased drain.

Have you tried booting your phone into Safe Mode to see if the battery draining issue still persists?

That was my first thought. VZW's signal might be acting up because of the summer storms up in NY/NJ. But signal was normal, almost full strength. So that shouldn't affect my battery consumption.

Anywho, after DL the app that Mustang7757 had suggested, it instantly fixed the problem. Probably could have been just luck? Not sure? But thanks all for the help!

I haven't tried safe mode. All I tried to do was, turning the phone off for 10-15 mins, turn it back on and the phone battery will still be lukewarm. Then i would notice my battery drain would be at a rapid rate.... Messed around with all the options under Device Care, same result... Almost thought of doing a Factory Reset... But i didn't want to lose all my media/text messages on my phone..

Might have to try your recommendation next time, Safe Mode... I never knew that we have that feature for this phone!
