And when you look at the checkbox, is it still checked?

After loading the ROM did you perform a Factory Reset, wipe the system cache and wipe the Dalvik cache?

Really when it comes down to it I just want adblocker, no bloatware, and wireless tethering.

Yes, and yes. the box is still checked. I found a solution tho.. I used the xposed module Gravitybox. It has a toggle for a battery percentage. So far it works great.

I updated to the latest 2.17.14 release from old&slow. I have had a problem with the camera. It has some overlay of squares. I'm not sure how to describe it so just have a look. Any ideas on why this could be happening?

When you loaded that did you wipe /system (along with /data and cache and Dalvik cache) prior to loading? If not you may want to try doing that and then reflashing the firmware.

I used an earlier release than what you listed (from late December IIRC) and haven't seen anything like you describe.

No I didn't wipe. I thought if the rooms are the sam. That I didn't need to. I'll try it all over again.

Perhaps I misunderstood you - did you just overwrite the earlier version of old&slow with a newer one, or did you update from 4.1.2 to old&slow?

If the latter, you can boot into your custom Recovery software (TWRP or CWM) and clear all of the ones I mentioned, then use Odin to reload the firmware.

Tbh, I didn't know I should do otherwise. I guess I just wanted all the new stuff, with theming and bug fixes. I'll just restart it all from scratch. I have TiBu, so it's no biggie.

I'm sorry if I missed this, but can I use this update to go from 4.1.2 without wiping all my data? I'd clear cache and dalvik but can I leave the rest of my stuff in place?
