Everyone on the note 5 forum is talking about the update they've recieved for Samsung pay, but what about us? Has anyone with s6 edge+ recieved an update? I have been checking religiously since they officially announced that they would support Samsung pay.

The update is pushing out now for Verizon to support Samsung Pay. It was announced last week.

Well I was able to download the pay app from the app store, but it fails on the framework download so I guess I'll have to wait for the update :-(. It's becoming slightly unbearable.

The Android app store or Samsung? I just checked and I don't see it.

Someone in the Samsung Pay thread in the mobile payments forum contacted Samsung and told him that the app doesn't go live until the 20th.

Guess we'll have to wait and see. Luckily it's just a few days away. I mean we've already waited this long what's a few days lol...

I was able to install Samsung Pay on my Edge+ (VZW variant) this morning. Here are some observations:

1. I downloaded and installed the app from the Google Play store. FWIW, I have not yet received the VZW firmware update that supposedly enables Samsung Pay.

2. Once I opened the app, I was promoted to update to the security policy. However, when I tried doing so, nothing would happen. I remembered I had used Package Disabler Pro to disable numerous items. When I checked my list of disabled apps, I noticed that one pertaining to security updates was disabled. Make sure everything pertaining to Samsung security is not disabled via Package Disabler.

3. Once I re-enabled this app, I reopened Samsung Pay and was able to download the security policy updates. Interesting note though, as part of the install process, my phone downloaded and reinstalled Samsung Pay app, but this version appeared to come from the Samsung App Store. It said it would install over the previously installed version of Samsung Pay. So you need to have created a Samsung account and not disabled this functionality with Package Disabler.

4. After Samsung Pay had finished installing, I was successfully able to add my Am Ex card to my account. Received email confirmations from Samsung Pay and Am Ex that the card was successfully added.

Was just about to post this. There's actually no update you need from Verizon just the app from the play store. The problem I had at first was the framework I sideloaded. If you sideloaded the framework you have to hard reset your phone or Samsung pay won't work.

I'm kissing something. Why is it easier to pull out a big glom of a phone than a little credit card with a security chip in it?

Not easier necessarily, but sometimes convenient in my case. I don't like carrying wallets because they can be too bulky(I have a lot of cards). With nfc or mst I can carry multiple cards without the bulk. You will find the value if one day you forget your wallet and only have your phone :)

Adding my two cents, I didn't receive an official update from Verizon but I was able to download Samsung Pay from the Play Store. I registered a card AND used it to pay in a store today so all good on my end. If only Samsung would let us in on the free charger promo
