As all of you know Verizon has just released Nougat for their S7/S7 edge devices. I have created this thread for us to help each other as we transition over to the new OS. The Verizon variant of Nougat differs from other carriers and some of the help you might find elsewhere may not always apply to your specific device. This will be a one stop shop where you can come by from time to time to ask questions, answer questions and find some great information for your fantastic device.

I'll start. Is high performance mode suggested for most things? I just have it set to Optimized

Everyone has different needs and different uses. It can vary on what you are wanting from your device. For everyday usage I would recommend optimized . You will overall get better battery life and stability, however, some users may not notice too much of a difference.

OK thanks. I noticed the battery is about 15 percent better so far.

If you do not like the new settings layout there are 2 options available for you. In settings you can tap on the overflow menu (3 dots) and there you will have the option to switch between the new layout and the one that allows you to have the quick settings you were used to having in Marshmallow. Verizon is the only carrier that offers this option.

If you are missing any of your buttons in the quick settings panel after upgrading, pull down from the top twice (or once with 2 fingers) tap on the 3 dots and then edit. Your missing buttons will be at the bottom of the screen. Also, some apps have quick buttons that may have to be added the same way.

Were you aware that Secure Folder was baked into Verizon's version of Nougat? There is an update for Secure Folder and Smart Switch the Galaxy Apps store just in case you do not have auto update apps turned on. You can also add a button for Secure Folder to the quick settings panel for it by editing the panel.

Does anyone know how to get the LED working for notifications again? It worked sporadically for me after the upgrade so I hard reset thinking that would fix it but now it doesn't seem to work at all. Verified I have the correct settings turned on. Turns on when charging but not for emails or any other app notifications.

That's rad thanks. I don't mind the new layout for now but good to know.

My Pandora doesn't work anymore. Since the update, all I get is waiting for connection cancel/retry message.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled and still getting same message

Re: Verizon Nougat Help, Tips & Tricks

For me it's the Hancom Office 2014 that doesn't work. It keeps asking me to close the program but it never actually opens. I've downloaded other programs that work though.

Did the Secure Folder take the place for Private Mode? How do I get my pictures into the Secure Folder?

Secure Folder did not replace Private Mode. Private Mode is still there. They both have different functions.

The. Nougat update changed my calendar. Is there a way to get it back?
What did you like about your other calendar? I posted a reply in another thread to you on how you can see your daily tasks while in your month view. You swipe up to bring up your tasks. If you don't want to see your tasks in the month view you can swipe down. It will remember whatever you leave it at. I am not aware of any way to bring the old calendar back.

I downloaded Nougat several days ago. I have a Galaxy S7 running on Verizon Wireless. I cannot find the Secure Folder anywhere in the Play Store or Galaxy Apps. It also does not show a button available in the settings. I know there is a third party APK version you can download but I am reluctant to do that.

Re: Verizon Nougat Help, Tips & Tricks

What are the differences between the two?
Secure Folder is where you can place apps, files and data to be protected from being seen from anyone else.

Private Mode only works with a few Samsung apps. It is toggled on and off and secures the files that have been selected within the apps.
