Pretty sure that won't count against your data plan. Never has for me.

Do they really do that ? Rooting is freedom
Not on Verizon, no root yet to my knowledge. Don't see any threads saying " LGv20 Verizon Root"! Only the T-Mobile version has been cracked. Somebody please stand me corrected if I'm wrong!

I noticed the download this afternoon and just decided to run the install. It actually went quicker than I expected, judging by some of the posts I've seen here (that's a first for me), and has been trouble free so far.

Update: Anyone else get a text like this?

FREE VZW MSG: The security of your Verizon account is extremely important to us. Your personal identification number (PIN) or password does not meet our new security requirements. Please log into your My Verizon account and select a new 4-digit PIN as soon as possible.

I don't even have a PIN set up for My Verizon to begin with.

I went to the VZW website to learn what this is about. "Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a software update for your device. This software update has been tested to help optimize device performance, resolve known issues and apply the latest security patches.

Before you download:
Connect your device to a Wi-Fi network, or make sure it has a strong Verizon Wireless network connection.

Ensure your battery is fully charged before starting the software update.

Yes and I called. It is legit. You just log in to vzw on computer and change your pin. If you never had one it is the last 4 of your social sec number. You do not need to know your pin to make up a new one.just click on change pin.Make up any new pin you want. Use your own link or google to be sure you are logging on to legit vzw site.

Was this the update that changes the ware from 6.0 to 7.0?
Because it totally jacked my Moto Z for hours!!!
I've disabled system updates... but it's too late... I lost ALL kinds of data due to corrupted files from APKs that I used which most likely address incompatible with 7.0.All settings reverted to default.... But at least I learned to turn a USB to Ethernet... sigh

Sorry but you are in the wrong forum for your question...... Good luck finding your answer.......

I thought updates with Nougat are supposed to be seemless allowing you to use your device while it updates?

Had similar issues with mine. Got the notification while at work so I delayed the update to 9pm. Update started and seemed to go fine but ended up hanging on the Verizon boot screen for about 45 mins. Restarted itself (was very warm to touch - but not as hot as my G4 would get). After restarting, it froze on my homescreen and required a battery pull to restart.

Now seems ok. May do a cache clean later if things are still slow.

Given the problems I had with my G4 and the V10 issues as well, this is definitely not confidence inspiring in my LG...

The V20 is not partitioned correctly for seamless updates. Right now the Pixels are the only phones that are I believe

Anybody notice anything new or different since the update? I sure haven't.

The little #'s that tell me how many emails and Facebook notifications I have look different lol. Seriously, thats the only difference I'm seeing
