Verizon Sim card

So I currently have the HTC One M8 on Verizon. My Pixel XL will be delivered from Google on Tuesday.
My question is can I simply remove my Verizon sim card from my M8 and pop it in my Pixel XL?
Will everything work normally? Is there any benefit to going to a Verizon store and getting a new sim card for my Pixel XL?
Would be interested to hear from anyone that has done this with their new Pixel.

Yes it will work fine. I popped the SIM out of my note 7 and put it right in the pixel XL. Everything works normal.
