I checked this morning and there is a software update. Just a heads up. Hopefully it helps battery drain.

Thanks for the heads up. I usually like to wait, see what everyone is saying about the new update.

I usually wait also. They'll be a few threads with members shedding tears and complaining, it'll save me the headache

Lets hope. Only had my s6 for two days and battery has been horrible. I did all the setting changes in another thread last night and saw a slight improvement but today will be the real test.

Not sure if this is part of the update or not, but I've got the option in the Google Search app to unlock my device via a "trusted voice". Coincidentally I was rooting around these settings just last night and it wasn't there then.

I think this at least addressed the battery issue, as cell standby is no longer on my list.

I think this has made my battery worse! I never complained about battery life before, but this is bad.

4hr 7min on battery
49% left

sot - 1hr 20min

cell stand by 4% (always high due to low signal)

Sent from my Samsung S6

5 hours 12min on battery. 92% remaining. not much sot but 100% improvement from yesterday.

Phone seemed a bit sluggish until I wiped the system cache partition. Now seems zippier and memory management better. I am not yet seeing the same performance degradation that had me constantly closing all recent apps and rebooting once a day.

Update failed the first time I did it. It came up to a system reboot menu gave me options to "Reboot" "apply update from ADB" "apply update from Cache" or "Apply update from external storage" I just hit reboot, once it rebooted it told me the update failed and its downloading it again. If it happens again should I try hitting "update from cache"?

Yup - gotta flush the toilet every now and then. I like to store a backup Nandroid image on my computer. I have absolutely no problems with totally purging my phone from time to time and restarting from stock image.

If you can't to this by yourself, don't try to guess. Just leave the phone alone and let Moto do the driving.
