Verizon System Update 4 - Night mode included

I wasn't overly impressed with it. I took a picture focusing on a Coke can on the back of my car last night. Photo contained a lot of noise, grain, and you could tell there was a lot of processing going on. 3/10 from me. My old iPhone 6s+ took better night shots.

Yeah, it isn't impressive, at all. In fact, I would say image quality is unacceptable.
If that is true then one has to wonder why Samsung is bothering with it at all. Better to wait until they have a real solution than stop gap measures such as this. Samsung's camera can certainly do many other things very well though, so I'm not sure it's appropriate to write it off completely either. But as I said - whoever wants or expects Pixel night mode should buy a Pixel. Simple as that.

Yeah as it is, I don't think should be the final product, it has serious issues with processing and takes too long to capture. By the time it captures the subject may be completely out of focus or gone.

Anyone notice that if you tap the screen a brightness adjustment pops up? I just noticed it so I'm not sure how it impacts results.

So far I don't like this implementation of night mode because it doesn't allow zoom adjustments. Just wide or normal which is somewhat limiting.View attachment 305054

I went to a concert Wednesday night and didn't think to try and use night mode just to see what difference it would make in the pictures. I haven't downloaded them yet but just from what I see on the phone I don't really like them. I've heard before don't zoom just work with what you get later and crop and zoom that. But I did take a few slightly zoomed in to see if that would be better.

I did notice two rows in front of me there was a guy that also had some sort of Galaxy phone and on his screen the pictures were zoomed in and crystal clear, or at least a whole lot clearer than mine and I don't know how he did it. But I will say if it involves going into pro mode and adjusting a bunch of settings, I'll just have to live with what I get. I just don't have the confidence to go in and make a bunch of changes without the chance of really messing something up. I did that on my previous LG G6 and it turned out very bad, much worse than if I had left it in default. Plus I can't see all of those small controls without my reading glasses.

Agree, just give me point and shoot, I cannot see the settings that well in daylight let alone at night time.

I have a S10+ and it's on mine so you might be right.

Just received the update availability message today on my Verizon S10+, FYI.

Curious - other than Night Mode and security updates, any other changes of note?
