Verizon update 7/10

Never accept an OTA update with a rooted phone. You should block/freeze system update.

First thing I did after gaining root and freezing/root-cloaking all of Verizon's apps. From my cold dead hand will you take from me MY ROOT! It's mine! My ONLY!

I had to do a factory reset to calm my battery drain down. Factory reset after an update is pretty much a given. At least for me...

Thanks! I'll certainly give it a try. I received the 5.0 update back in April and it did not affect battery life but this little update on 7/10 has totally wrecked it! Weird.

Funny my battery drains less now. I found the Google app seriously killed my batter so I removed that. This update made my phone functional again and I get notifications again, so that's a bonus

So is it safe to install Lollipop? I've been ignoring it forever. It's been pestering me more frequently in the last couple of days.

Yea. The latest update fixed the WiFi sync bug. As far as the reported battery drain, its not been any different for me after a factory reset. So if you do update to L, then plan on a factory reset afterwards.

I also disabled the Amazon/Verizon bloatware in Applications.

I waited a long time before doing so, getting only with this update, but so far it's been good. Battery life is somewhat improved for me. No real major differences, notifications are different, not sure if they're better or worse yet, but that's really all you'll notice

Anyone else having a problem with incoming calls not registering properly? Such as, I got a call from (222) 123-4567. (222) being like my local zip, but the number shows up as +22 21 234567. That makes no sense whatsoever! Like it is screwing up the number with a country code on the way in. This has only happened since the latest update. Also, every incoming call that does show up correctly, shows the country code before the number, which of course is always in the background before, but now, it's just annoying and cluttered.
