I love my G4. However, that fact the my son has received Marshmallow on my old G3, while I am still waiting is very frustrating!

From what I've been reading, MM doesn't sound that special. Given my bad luck with poorly designed/implemented Verizon updates, I've disabled my update checker. About the only thing that would make me really want it is if they fixed the bug where the camera app resets itself like the data was cleared, and another where Play doesn't recognize a mobile data connection without clearing the app cache.

I am hoping Bluetooth will stay connected to my car. Never had a problem with my LG G3. Maybe I should just take it back from my son...LOL

I don't want it either...just hoping when I do get it, it doesn't mess up my perfectly running phone.

Go into the application manager and swipe to the ALL tab. Scroll down and you'll see two apps named System Updates. One of them will show taking up space, the other will show zero bites used. The one showing zero can be disabled, which will prevent your phone from checking for updates.

Updates are a double edged sword.... everyone thinks they need them and get upset if they don't get them in a timely manner, Yet when they come, they usually bring along with them a whole new set of problems for the end user, which in turn results in a whole new series of threads on the forums about the new issues.

In a way I am glad that Verizon hasn't pushed the update out. Let the other carriers work the bugs out and hopefully most of us on Verizon will be happy. I'm a tech junkie so I tend to "jones" for the latest and greatest.... its killing me that my wife has a LG V10 and I don't... but thats the way the smartphone market goes. There will always be something better and faster within a couple months of our purchases. Its what drives the industry.

Also, from past upgrade experience, there is no method to the madness of who pushes updates first. It has varied, but, one thing I ave noticed that is consistent is that it is usually three to 4 weeks between each carrier. Given that, I think we will start seeing Marshmallow on our Verizon G4's by the end of the month.

I purposely am avoiding updating to MM. My phone works great the way it is with lollipop.

Done, thanks...TNCD posted that there's the possibility for an update today, I'm staying away for now.
