I just manually checked for software updates and there was one available. I am currently downloading it. Anyone know what this update is for?

Here is a screenshot.

Downloading as well. Hoping it adds a fix to memory leak, battery usage and adds a Micro SD card (lol).

Update failed. It got stuck on the boot loader. Said it was applying Multi CSC. Manually rebooted. Tried again on software updated and now says update failed.

Mine also failed the first time. I cleared the cache and then downloaded and tried again and it was successful the second time. I compared to my coworker's S6 Edge and it appears the Build number has changed. Android version is still 5.0.2.

The only difference I notice is the bubbles in the stock Samsung MEssaging app are now yellow and blue instead of yellow and orange. And I guess it also has those new drawing on photos features, but I don't really care about that.

I rotate and am very happy. I know people are gonna hate on it because its a band-aid and not a fix and we paid for a phone thats patched and not right but in my world...... Apps, web pages, games and pix work like a charm so Im good with it.

I installed the update this morning. it FIXED my screen rotation problem, FINALLY! It also appears to be running smoother, but I have to test the phone more tonight to see if it is in fact smoother or just seemed that way. Oh, also forgot, the accel. sensor is still showing that is stuck on the x-axis; with that said I am glad to see Samsung has managed to work around that issue and make software changes to compensate.

I got my update today. Although the version I got was different then the one in the droid-life link, but so far everything in the pics look the same as mine.

Any idea if the patch to fix auto rotate gets applied even if I never had the no rotate problem? Does it check to see if rotate is working and not apply that patch, or does it apply it anyway and now mine is using a alternate way to rotate even though I never had the non rotate bug hit me?

I'd still exchange the phone. Thats a hardware failure plain and simple, workaround or not.

i just installed the update. No installation issues. I don't see any heart-pounding changes.

I exchanged it three times, problem happened on every device. But, as long as its working, i wont be complaining because tbh I am little tired of exchanging phones and reinstalling everything :)

edit: I am using a third party app to test the sensor because using those "secret codes" #*0#* or whatever it was, it doesn't work on mine. So, im not sure if for example the cache needs to be cleared on that app or reinstalled or something, not sure.

I'm dealing with the same problem as you. Third one on the way. What storage size do you have? Mine is 64gb black sapphire. My friend with the 32gb has had no issues, so I wanted to see if the issue is related to capacity.

In regards to the secret code, are you on Verizon? They locked users out of that menu.

I'm happy to report that the update also fixed the Night Clock problem where the entire screen backlight stayed on, instead of just the clock lettering. MUCH better at night now!
