Verizon updates

Everybody with Verizon still stuck on July 1 security patch? I keep reading about people on October for some carriers and know LG has patch logs listed into October. This is my first LG phone on Verizon in a very long time. Is this normal?!

My very old Note 4 was already patched for BlueBorne yet my brand new G6 is stuck on a nearly 3 month old patch.

I left a Z Force for the G6 and even though Moto/Lenovo was notoriously slow for updates the Force had pretty timely updates.

I dont expect super quick Pixel level updates but months old is a possible deal breaker. I have been pretty pleased with the phone otherwise.

I'm holding out that the next time I see the popup to update, it's for Oreo.

I contacted Verizon support yesterday about this since LG lists Oct updates available. I got a reply back today from tier 2 tech support.

"Hello, The G6 update past July is still in the process of testing to ensure no issues. No set date for release."

Where do you find update info for the G6? I been looking for good sources

Article today shows that 8.0 Oreo is in benchmark testing for the G6, so not too much longer . . However, when that update gets through Verizon to us though is an entirely separate matter.
