Verizon voicemail the number promp

I called my voicemail and it asked me to put a number in I have found when I push a number it won't take I push it several times still nothing

I reboot the phone then it works

Anyone else have this go on

I had something similar on Sprint where it wouldn't recognize 2 in my passcode.
