Is it just me or does the Verizon version Z3V look thicker and wider than the normal Z3?? Kind of uglier.

Probably because of wireless charging.

Honestly I don't think it looks nearly as nice as the normal Z3. Disappointing. I would rather not have wireless charging and have it be the same as the Z3.

i happen to like the magnetic charger. It snaps into place with a very satisfying "click".

and a slightly larger 3,200 mAh battery which is why it looks thicker

You know the funny thing is they are only saying one day of use vs two on the international z3. Implying that the version version sucks more juice I guess. That is concerning as battery life was the main selling point for me.....

Very disappointed in Sony. Wireless charging should be in all Xperia models! It's so much more convenient

Yeah, wireless charging isn't that important to me. In the end, I'll probably still get it since I like the other features. Stupid Verizon.

Wouldn't it take longer to charge the phone if it was charging wirelessly?

This is the Z2 that was rumored 6 months ago from verizon.. Looks like they just waited for the Z3, beefed up the specs, and called it the Z3. Disappointing. Oh well.

Here's my deal. At first i was disappointed in the looks of the Z3V but then i have never had my last two phones outside of an aftermarket case. No one in my life would ever see the corners or the back of the phone. They would only see the screen and the camera poking out the back of a slimline case.

However, I'm assuming that every time i would want to charge the Z3V i would be forced to remove the aftermarket case, which would be a negative.

I dont have a single friend or acquaintance that walks around with their bare cell phone. They all use third party cases.

I think the Z3V looks fine and for the slightly different design you get wireless charging and a bigger battery. Respectfully, are folks that "shallow" they do not see these advantages for some slight aesthetic differences? ;)

I am seriously considering this over my N4 preorder......... I see the point though about having to remove a case for wireless charging.... No removable battery either...... N4 seems better as the Z3 does too for certain things. Between the two, there is one amazing device :) ;)

This was one of the main reasons I had been waiting for this device as well. I hope i'm not disappointed.

Shame on those who are buying this so call Z3v...Letting Sony and Verizon rip you off...You're basically buying a Z2 and paying full retail for it.

The Z3v has the design, speaker, display, camera, and battery from the Z2. Only the processor is the same as the Z3. So more like an overclocked Z2 than a modified Z3. Disappointing because the Z3 display and speakers in particular are supposed to be much better than the Z2. Also, the Z3 display is more efficient which is why this is rated for less battery life even with the bigger Z2 size battery.

I'm currently using the TMo Z1s and will wait for their Z3.....at least it will be a "real" Z3. Love my Z1s but the improved screen and added RAM are enough for me to want to upgrade. BTW, I can get two days of battery from my Z1s, if I haven't been in a heavy web browsing mode. Sony Xperia phones kick **** in the battery life category.

I'm betting some of VZW's bloatware is sucking the battery of the Z3v.
