I have the watch and numbershare with Verizon turned on and phone calls work fine. When I call from my watch it shows my main phone number and when someone calls my main phone number it rings my watch. What doesn't work for me is texting from my watch still shows the watch number and not my main phone number. I called tech support and they said numbershare does not affect texts, it only works with calls.

Can anyone confirm that their watch is working with texts and calls using Verizon numbershare?

This is all assuming the watch is in stand alone mode.

It works for me. I keep my phone and watch connected remotely (not through bluetooth). When you swipe down on the main screen it should say "remotely connected" either through wifi or mobile network. When I text from the watch the recipient sees the text from my phone's number. The downside of not connecting through bluetooth is the gear app won't show stats (battery, etc) so I'll have to connect through BT for that.

Remote connection works fine. I am asking about stand alone. Your phone is off but you have your watch

Do you guys have the frontier or classic? Because I am trying to use numbershare and Verizon said that the frontier is unable to use numbershare at this time due to a software issue. wtf isn't this the reason they delayed launch for 8 months? they said the classic does not have the same issue.

I had that exact same problem wit my S3 and AT&T NumberSync. I ended up turning off NumberSync and then setting it up again. Havent had the issue since.

I have the frontier (Verizon) and numbershare works fine. Didn't yet test it in standalone mode, but otherwise no issues.

Might want to try this:

So anyone at home that wants to change to the $5 plan you can do this:

1. Log on to your verizon account (Full Website)
2. Hover your mouse over the "My Devices Tab" then click on "Manage connected devices"
3. Click OK on the notification box if it comes up.
4. Then drag and drop the watch to the line you want to share.

I had to log off then log back on to get it to show on the line. But it worked.

Correct.... Text comes from the watch number unless you are connected.

NumberShare is working fine on the calls when the phone is off, calling the watch and when calling from the watch, but not messages. The watch will only send/receive messages from the watch number if the phone is off. Verizon tech support confirmed yesterday that this is a known issue and that both calls and messages from the Gear S3 should work with NumberShare (using the main phone number) even if the phone with primary number is off.

And according to VZW web site, NumberShare on the Gear S3 does NOT require using the VZW Messages+ app.

The Samsung Gear Manager app on the phone will still correctly send and receive messages via the phone's number from the watch if the phone is on.

So far, the best part of of NumberShare is having it call the watch directly rather than waiting for the call to be forwarded after ringing first on the phone. With forwarding, people would hang up before the call finally got forwarded after 5-6 rings.

I guess my watch and phone don't want to get along because with my phone off I try to call or be called and it goes straight to voicemail calling my phone number.

Borarjti,

Are you one Verizon? Are you using numbershare? I think an indication you are using number share is if you plan is $5 vs $20.

yes I have the Verizon lte and was informed by customer service that the frontier is unable to do numbershare at this time due to a software issue. so currently I cannot turn on numbershare according to them. and I have found no option to do so by myself.
also on another note I've tried calling my wife a few times on the watch standalone mode and when she picks up it ends the call.

That's incorrect, I have the Frontier and it works fine. You do it online. Go to the website and you should be able to do it.

I will try this again but the last few times I have tried, my watch is not an option to be shared with my phone.

Ya... That would cause issues. Lol

I don't understand because it worked for me and others.
