Very annoying

I thought I would try to narrow this down. I turned on silent and the bell didn't show up. I turned off silent. I turned off my VPN, my Google Fi, Do Not Disturb, those that show up on the bar. I then turned on silent and the silent bell appeared. See screenshot. I then turned on each one at a time. The silent bell remained. I turned silent off and back on and the silent bell returned. I tried the same with the vibrate indicator and that didn't appear.
I've turned off and on silent and the silent bell is now displaying just fine.
Go figure.

I turned on my Pixel 4a and turned on silent and the silent bell showed up without doing the turning off of functions that are displayed in the bar.
So maybe the change was in an update.

for me on my pixel five, vibrate only mode never shows up in the status bar. So it all mode is broken from the beta program I’m guessing. It works out the time and doesn’t work the other half the time. I usually keep my phone on normal mode. I’m not on Hard wiping my phone is not worth it to me. Especially when I do plan on buying 13 promax at some point next year. There are certain quirks that I am now finding of android 12 that really pissed me off. Unfortunately.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and its all that and a bag of chips. Mine has been flawless from Day 1. I just fell in love with Android so I'm using a Pixel 5 right now.

I do love it. And as a life long Mac user you simply cannot beat the integration with desktop Macs. My love of Android was an accidental discovery.

My parents, in their 80s, are hale and hearty. Dad is computer savvy for someone of his generation, but he still has an AOL account as his primary email. Mom is disinterested in computers and has always been so. They were happy with their basic flip phones but the days of simplicity are ending. My father thought it was time to get smartphones to replace the flippers so they asked for my advice and naturally I said "iPhone." So they bought Google Pixels. Why even ask me if you're going to ignore my advice. They KNOW I'm an Apple guy. And I'm always their first (and second and third) call for any kind of tech support. Wireless routers and wireless printing, etc. Even pc help.

So when they got Pixels I figured I'd better have at least a rudimentary familiarity with Android. I bought a clean/used Pixel 3a XL. I immediately fell in love with Android and, despite it not integrating with the Apple ecosystem like an iPhone, found the overall experience fascinating. Upgraded from the 3a XL to the Pixel 5 for 5G and wireless charging and haven't put it down since. But my 13 Pro Max is right there at my bedside ready for a quick switch back when I feel the urge.

To which I reply, "I guess you prefer being locked into the Google ecosystem?" You might have more app choices with Android than with Apple's iOS, but a lot of those choices are trash. iOS is more limited as far as customization, but it is super reliable and rock solid. Those darn iPhones just plain work.

Yeah, I’ve heard that abs are more “” polished oniOS. I’m excited to try that… that in the extreme iOS optimization for battery life quite honestly! Yeah all in all I would like to try an iPhone for myself. Regardless of my love affair with Google and ecosystem lol, it’s just time for me to try iOS. Besides, with iOS 15 and widgets in the customization, It got a lot more appealing to myself and a lot of other enthusiasts out there!

now, what I will also say is that dark mode for sample on android is more of a dark gray not black. On iOS seems like dark mode is actually pure black. It looks better in my Opinion at least.
