===> My main question: how do I change the primary gmail account that I have associated with my android phone (HTC Aria rooted to 2.2 Froyo with CyanogenMod). And without a hard factory reset. Read on if you want to know why...

Hello! Had a little disturbing event this afternoon. Just got finished installing some apps from the Marketplace and then a few hours later received two different emails to my gmail account:

- "sign up for an extra 250GB of storage space!" blah blah on some website (this website comes up a lot in the marketplace comments with everyone touting their signup links)
- and "joe schmoe wants your recommendation on zoodles"

(these are paraphrases. being upset I hit spam, but should have saved the emails)

The reason I'm upset is that the email address I've got I've had for about 4 years, and have never had any spam of any kind. Maybe 50 messages, in *4* years. And that's with emailing a ton of people, primarily for business purposes. Every email that ever comes in I know who and where it came from, and I haven't used it/typed it/ at all on my cell phone.

Is this typical? I'm coming from 4(?) years with the BB storm (which I got tired of after seeing what friends and colleagues could do with their phones) and was really excited about using this Froyo business.

To change the primary Gmail account (the one associated with the market from what I understand). I think if you started by removing the current Google account (Setting --> Accounts & Sync --> select and tap 'Remove'). Then add a new account. After that account is setup you can re-add your previous account and set up what you want to sync. You may lose access to your paid apps, but I'm not sure about that. I've never tried this, but my guess is that the first Google account set up is the one that the Market is tied to.
