very confused with pictures

I am having some problems with my my pics. on my atrix. I have the camera set to save them to the sd card, which it does. any time i take a picture, it will appear up to 4 times in the thumbnail folder. so if i have 50 pictures the folder will folder will show 200. The other problem is that they will also appear in other folders as well. does any body know why it does this and how to to fix it. i need simplicity here. i take a pic and its where it should be just once and thats it then i can do what i need to with it. thanks.

Do you mean that when you launch the Gallery App and then select Camera Roll that each picture is in there 4 times?

Stock gallery? Mine stores thumbnails on the internal but it is set to store on external, but when I open up the stock gallery they are there just once.
