Nearly all USB ports on laptops/computers are limited to 500 mA.
I have a bunch of older a/c adapters that came with older phones, or were bought off of eBay for $3 or so.
None of those will charge any faster than the PC port will.
However, if the OEM Samsung a/c adapter that came with my Galaxy S5 is used, the battery will charge to 98-100% in about 90 minutes.
I just recently bought and installed a Wireless pad charger. The thing does work, but it is slow... but who cares if you are sleeping? The downside on the one I got is it runs HOT... no doubt because of its' cheap price, it is cheaply built w/o any margin of error for safety. It may not last very long, but it was only $18.99 and it is only needed about 3 times a week. I get 3 days use per charge on my S5 as I have most of the junk apps Turned Off. I also turn Off Data, sync, WiFi, bluetooth, GPS when they are not needed.
I don't need for my phone to be talking to Google or anyone else when I am asleep.
