I have my SF set to only vibrate for calls and have silent mode set on. But is there a way to also get notifications (ex:email) to vibrate instead of using a ring tone?

Many thanks. Joe...

What version is your phone on? You can check by going to Settings > About phone and checking the last 4 characters of your baseband and build numbers. If you're on DL30 or EB01 set the vibration to always and notification ringtone to silent. I don't recall the exact method on the older (2.1) versions.

I just use the volume rocker on the side of the phone, set that to vibrate while im at work and the majority of the time so all my notifications that come in are automatically set to vibrate. The only notification that will not be is the alarm even if its on vibrate.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm stock 2.1 on EA28. I never noticed Silent under Notification Ringtones. I set it to use that, have the checkbox on Phone Vibrate, Silent Mode is unchecked, but when i sent a test gmail to myself from another account, no vibrate notification.

You may want to check out an app called Profile. I like it a lot. You can set up numerous sound profiles for different situations (work, sleep rome, weekend, etc) and schedule them did any day/time combination you can think of. If you want you can change the profile you're using on the fly and it will still stick to whatever schedule you set.

And it's free. :)

IMO sound profile apps are a must-have and this does a good job.

since I flashed sc2.9 I can't set my normal ringtones as notification ringtones anymore ...in my sound settings, my voice call ringtones and notification ringtones aren't the same, where as before(I'm not sure if they were the same or not) but I know I could set any sound in voice call as a notification sound .. I had the ring from the show 24 I really liked ..I'm not sure if I just forgot how I did it or if it's not possible with sc

It's definitely possible with SC. I have a "ringtones" folder on my SD card with songs I've clipped myself and they all show up in the same voice call ringtone list as the stock ones in the settings.

they do in mine too but I'm talking about the notification ringtones, like for email and text messages, they have a separate list of ringtones and I can't add any of my music to it

Using a file explorer, you can navigate to /system/media/audio and drop whatever files you would like into the ringtones or notifications folders, reboot, and they should populate into your menu

For some reason its still not showing in my ringtones folder using root manager. From double twist I sent the tone to my ring tones then went through root mngr/systm/media/audio/& ringtones but its not there, tried rebooting, still nothin
