I didn't like it when I tried it. Everyone says its cool but I just don't see it.

I'm shocked they haven't addressed this issue yet. It's not a good feeling when your messages just vanish and there's not a thing you can do about it.

Exactly... One second I was texting like three friends and the next BOOM gone. Feels bad man .

someone with root, does the phone store all the messages in an xml file or some sort of sql database?

There's a option in your messeges settings that deletes you txts once u reach 200. i had that happen to me and i found that on accident

Yea, you're not loosing txts randomly. It is just that you have reached your max amount of threads or txts and it will dump the phone automatically.

I have handscent and love it......but randomly my texts go missing as well....(no i didnt reach a limit i had 10 contacts open)......

I miss the solid msg on my blackberry.....come hell or high water that thing NEVER-EVER-EVER lost a msg.....
