Vid chat with droid x using Fring

Hey guys, i just got a droid x today, was wondering if anyone'd seen the video on youtube a while back where a guy used fring and managed to video chat between an htc evo and a droid x...i downloaded fring, but i'm not sure how to get the video to work. any ideas?

you can't see the other person or yourself.. so i'm not sure I understand the point?
unless you only want to be seen?

the guy in the video, used fring, and just turned the phone around and looked at the camera, and it worked. he had two phones for the demo...one was an evo and the other was an X..he was using the front camera on the evo, but the reg back camera on the x..

What's not working? Did you make the test call? From what I can tell Fring only does video chat with other Fring accounts, not to things like Google Chat. Can you have a voice or text chat with your other Fring friend?

i did make the test call, but it didn't give me an option for a video call? it only had the phone icon, and a IM icon but it wasnt lit. yeah and voice and text work with my fring friend..

i think the test call is only to test the voice portion of it to make sure it sounds good, you would need to test the video with another user on fringe.

The Fring test call does have a video option (it records the video and then plays it back to you after a short intro). It seems not to be working for me now, either. First the video test call only showed a black screen and now I can't log into Fring at all. Perhaps Fring is having an issue?

Why not just put a mirror in front of you so the rear facing camera sees you in the mirror and you see them on the screen?

I feel silly now... I kept hearing people suggesting this but not until now my brain couldn't picture how that would work... Daaah, I have really been working to many hours, my brain is getting a delay to catch up.

I suppose that would work. but would need to be a good size mirror i would think. not a portable solution really.

could be..haven't tried it since the other night
i might try it again later...will let u guys know what happens.
