Video and picture saving...

I am amazed at how this phone can save the same photo or video 5 times in 5 different folders. I have changed the settings in apps to not save photos nor videos, some apps you cannot do this with. The biggest issue is photos and videos I had in my sd card there was the main folder on the sd card then a folder just for the pictures and another folder for the videos. This is getting very frustrating as I only want a few folders for my stuff. I do not need a new folder for every picture or video I take or a new folder for transferred files.

I have searched for a setting to change how things are saved but no go. I literally just deleted the same video 3 times from 3 different folders. What is this windows me? Where files went where ever the system wanted them to go?

I have no idea what you are talking about. I have an S8. And my vids and pics save to 1 folder on my SD Card only. Not to several.

It is such an odd thing. When I put my old sd card in (with pictures and video from another phone) the phone itself took the pictures and videos and copied them into different folders. So I had the main folder with the files then two more with copies of the same files. I have deleted a lot of the duplicate stuff and I hope it doesn't happen again.

The other issue I have is apps. They all want to save pictures/video into their folders, why can't these app designers make it so we can pick where we want files to go? In some cases it's 4 copies of a picture, one from the camera, an editing app and any social media apps I may post those pictures to. Very frustrating for me.
