Video calling on the LG Stylo 5?

Hi. I just got the stylo 5 from metro by T-Mobile and my boyfriend has the stylo 5 from verizon and we r in each other's contact lists and under his name in my phone i have a grayed out video camera and on his phone contact list in my name it doesn't have a video camera for video calling. Can anyone tell me why

Native video calling is typically only between people on the same carrier network. If you both install Google Duo, you can use that to make video calls easily.
