Video calling

You mean video calling from the dialer ? Is the person you're calling on the same carrier / have video calling on their phone as well ?

I can't get mine to work. Anyone else having problems

Any of the Galaxy phones from the S6 up including the note 5 work. The other person MUST have a phone that supports video calling. In your contact list you will see a green video camera to the right of the phone number if that person has a phone that supports video calling.

My understanding is it only works on the same carrier for now. On Verizon I think only the Samsung phones support it. I was told that support for other phones is coming this year, like for iphones.

I appreciate the answer. It's really stupid that it has to be the same carrier even though the phones are the exact same.

The ability to video call other carriers will come once the carriers allow it for more phones. Samsung built the feature into their flagship phones and made it easy for the carriers to implement. Once the carriers bring Iphones on line with this service, not Facetime, then we will probably see this capability across multiple phones and multiple carriers.

That is due to the carriers. They don't want to play nice.

That is right. Until they hit a critical mass that it is no longer a good financial idea to block video calling between carriers it will remain as it is. I don't understand why they think this way. The IPhone FaceTime app goes across carriers as does other 3rd party apps like Tango. So it is being done now. Why make it harder for customers to use their devices to their full potential.
I would think they would push this out as it requires use of data. Some will only use video via WiFi others will use their data plans. Thus increase use of data means more $$.
Typical corporate mentality of those still stuck in the dark ages.
