My video camera isn't recording distant sound.

Example: I was in my backyard testing the camera and recording cars going by about 50 feet out and the sound didn't get picked up; however, when I spoke into it a low volume close to the phone it picked up my voice.

Why is this?

Hmm, I toggled audio recording off and took a video; then, put it back on and took a video. Seems to be working now. Weird.

Doing the same thing again. This time it recorded with no audio till the last few seconds. Anyone else have this issue?

The mic is right where you're right hand may cover up... hate to say it, but you may be holding it the wrong way (cheesy Jobs quote, I know).

Even if I was covering the mic, which I'm not, you would still hear some sort of noise. Especially the noise of your hand swiping over the mic...

It's weird. It's like the audio doesn't click on until it hears a sound loud enough.. if I tap the mic with my finger it will ALWAYS record sound. It's the weirdest thing ever.

Yea, I just don't get why it's not picking up the sound of moving by cars. I guess I'll just always tap it just to make sure it's on. Kinda a turn off though. I don't take many videos though (hope I remember that when the time comes and it's something important, lol)

The Vibrant, Captivate and Fascinate have very sensitive microphones that some say is annoying.

With the Epic 4G, we have individuals claiming its NOT sensitive enough.

What gives?

Epic audio recording issue

Hi all. I have the Epic and I recently noticed that on my video recordings, often times there will be no audio recorded. Sometimes it will pick up a few seconds after video recording starts, other times it will be off altogether. No bluetooth or headphones plugged in and the audio recording box is checked.

Send the phone to Samsung and they said this:

NO TROUBLE FOUND
SW,PRL,OTSL RESET

Now I'm going to get it back tomorrow and I'm hoping it's fixed, but based on that text, I don't think it is. I called and they said it's fixed but it's just real irritating. I don't want to have to send the phone back to Samsung AGAIN and be without a phone for another week.

Anybody have any similar issues?
