Video Chat App

I found a review yesterday that said people overwhelmingly prefer tango. I've tried it calling my brother on his iPhone and it works good. It is a little delayed with video when only on 3g but on wifi it is much better.

I have tried using Tango tonight, just got the Thunderbolt yesterday and my brother got it today....When we used it, only the rear cameras were working. Also he could see the picture from my camera but i could only see the picture from my own camera. there also wasnt the window that usually holds my video in it. I see some people here are saying that they used Tango on the TB. Is there a reason y mine isnt working?

I also tried Fring and it worked better in that he could see his my video with the small window within the screen with his video, and i could see his with mine inside. Only problem was it only used the rear camera again.

It kinda sucks that this phone has the FFC without any real software that works with is so it really had no purpose til skype comes out

I think it might be your settings because my front camera works fine. I can use either camera on my tbolt with tango. Maybe uninstall and reinstall.

I just finished using Tango and spoke with my buddy who has an iPhone 4 on AT&T. I was on wifi while he was on his normal /horrible AT&T service and video quality was surprisingly good enough to hold a conversation 95% of the time. Being in a highly lighted area helps the video that "they " see. I figured out real quick you have to push the tango button on the lower right hand side of the screen after your call is connected for them to see you. My first video call ever and it was pretty cool! :D

Tango, ooVoo, Yahoo Messenger...

My wife and I both have Thunderbolts. We have tried multiple apps to video chat.

Tango - worked at first with front facing camera, but when I rotated my phone to use the kickstand. She saw me upside down on her phone. (going to reinstall and try again)

ooVoo - recognized front facing camera at first then just stopped working, now only works with rear camera.

Yahoo Messenger - Works well but quality of video transmission is poor at times (could be due to 3G no 4G in my area)

I wanted Qik but could not find the correct app. Does anyone have a link to its location in the market?

Used Tango to video chat with my sister up North and it worked fine. Front facing camera gets detected every time and I have the ability to rotate between front camera and rear camera. Little laggy at times but I think it might be her work wifi. (she works at verizon wireless)

I'm not real impressed with Tango. I haven't done it on wifi yet, but on the 3G network the video is fine and the audio is horrible. Maybe I'll try it on wifi this weekend to see if it is a network problem.

tango works...but you cant hear them or they can't hear you, thats the only down fall of that app. if they can fix that. it would be a kick ass app!

I'm sitting this one out on both the TB and xoom until Skype comes out.....granted this could be well after these devices are obsolete.

Just too easy to pull out the viphone and use Skype or facetime.

I emailed tango a few days ago. I asked if they could fix the app for the TB. They actually responded the day after. They advised that they were aware of the issues with the thunderbolt and stated "Our engineers are working hard to fix the problems, we should have it up and running soon". I keep checking the market to see if there is any updates.

Tested Tango...it worked. But I want it more for PC to phone talking (kids while away, etc.) so I'm waiting on Skype w/ Vid as well.
That was one of the smaller selling points of this phone for me.
