Video Issues

Video playback on high resolution is extremely choppy and unwatchable. I went to HBOGO's website and tried to watch a movie there but it was very choppy. Granted this is a website and not the HBO GO app so perhaps that is one issue, but i noticed this in other high resolution non 1080p vids. I hope when and if Netflix does come out for tablets that this video playback issue is resolved.

I know im not the only one having this issue so what do you guys think we will be the solution? ACER update or 3.1 update. Hope one of these fixes this.

Hopefully video playback will be improved in 3.1
As it is now, even playing back video stored on the tab itself still has some choppiness in it. Most noticeable during camera pans.

Yeah. what surprises me is that its the same vid chip as the xoom. Wonder if the xoom is having the same issues. This could be ONE of the reasons netflix and Hbo go has not been released for Tablets. I thought the first ACER update would have corrected this issue. I know the bitrate of the video helps this smooth out but will an App be able to force bitrates so we can watch them without chop! Lets hope the 3.1 solves this otherwise we all might be in for a very bad surprise.

I am running 3.1 (ASUS based ROM) and HBO GO site was choppy for me as well, didnt experience that with other Flash sites. Moboplayer seems to play 780p vids well, though.

I used a BT client to download 2 movies and a tv show for my Iconia. All three were decent bitrate, dvd quality. Both were clear and fluid; not choppy at all. I watch a lot of online, Flash based video and it runs fine too. I'm running 3.1 on a 32 gb model.
