Video Modes

Does anyone use the various video modes? i.e slow motion, fast motion

I tried them and slow motion was very pixelated. Fast motion i thought was for a video with a fast moving subject. but it turned a 5 second video into a 1 second video and sped it all up

It sounds as if the X takes the video at a normal setting, and then plays it in the different modes. Would explain the pixelation at slow motion and the shortness of the fast motion vid.
