Video phone apps working better with Froyo?

is anyone having any better luck with the video phone apps? Fring, Qik etc? I have tried them all with wi-fi, 4G and still not an acceptable result. Anyone else? Do you think G-Bread will help?

My wife and I both just got Epics with Froyo, and we use Oovoo, it has worked great for us so far. It does video chat, phone calls, and text chat.

thanks but I was specifically asking about video phone calls...you know, the equivalent of 'facetime'

which is what oovoo does. We only use it for video calls, it is just able to do all the other stuff if you want it too.

I just connected to vid chat using qik on froyo and it worked flawlessly

I think it has more to do with data speeds than the program you use.

Oovoo works okay, two epics on wifi. some audio feedback but much better picture. Fring and Qik are just lame programs and don't have the same quality. I think that Oovoo may be good enough to have practical use.

Rookie Question...

Good evening everyone! First I will apologize for the rookie question I am about to ask. :-[ I have been very frustrated with the 'video chat' programs available for the Epic. I can't get any of them to work! :-\ What am I doing wrong? Does the person on the other end of the video call have to have the same program I'm using? Do the video chat programs work with someone who has an iPhone with facetime? Help! :'(

Facetime is an apple only product, you can't facetime without a mac/ipod touch/iphone, and it would only work via wifi. What you can do is video chat with them with an app like Tango or Fring, which have iphone counterparts. For chats to a computer, Yahoo Messenger is the only way currently that I'm aware of. For other android users, other apps like oovoo and qik are also available. Have you tried all of these?

There is an app on the market called Tango, which is a pretty decent video chat service that allows you to talk with both android and iphone users. Also, you can download Qik on the market, which is a Sprint only video chat service (so basicially anyone who owns an Epic or Evo).
