Does anyone know of movie player app that plays many types of files? I had moboplayer before but it won't let me download the codecs on the nexus 7.

Not that I know of. It shouldn't be that bothersome...

MX Player works great on the Nexus 7. I was even able to play a 1080i mpeg transport stream that I recorded from my cable TV and this played great in SW mode. I think hardware mode does not work with de-interlacing.
