My Samsung Galaxy S4 will not play videos when I am connected to my Charter WIFI at 30 meg speed. It plays the audio but not video. If I disconnect WIFI and go to either 3G or 4G the videos play fine. Is there a setting I need to change somewhere?

Welcome to Android Central! Are you using YouTube?

Re: sandman3

Are you trying to play the videos directly from the Email app, or are you downloading them first, then playing them? If not, try doing that.

Re: sandman3

I am playing from e-mail. When I am not connected to WIFI they play fine. As soon as I turn on WIFI the audio plays but not the video..In the past I have been able to play when WIFI is connected. This seems to be a recent change.

Re: sandman3

Does that happen on any wi-fi network, or just your home network? See what happens if you reboot your router, or forget the wi-fi network and then reconnect.

Re: sandman3

I tried other WIFI networks and get the same result. It appears to be something in the phone relating to the functioning of WIFI

KitKat has known issues with video playback (Issue 70877). Try to use another video player - for example MX Player.

Re: sandman3

It shouldn't be different. I almost always use the T-Mobile support docs because they have the most easily accessible and readable guides.

Re: sandman3

I followed the instructions and completed the wipe of the cache but is has made no difference. The video will not play when I am on WIFI. It will play on the 3G or 4G. Any ideas?
