videos playing to fast

Just got my Note Pro 12.2 and am having some issues playing videos. The videos are stored on a WD mybook. When I try to play them they run fast. I would estimate about 50% faster then they should. I have tried a few different video players as well as the built-in one. If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.

Are you reading them from the external drive directly?

I am streaming them from the drive (NAS) over my home's wifi. I connect to the twonkyserver that is built-in to the external drive and then stream them. I have not tried to play one that is located in the tablet yet. I am not home at the moment but can try that later. I don't usually have any problem streaming from this drive. It works fine on my note 4 and other Samsung tablet.
