Hello all,

I am a bit of a numpty at all this, my husband had to make this account for me, but I need some help amd he suggested thisi looked like the best place to get it, he does not use android.

I have just got a new A36 and I am having a couple of issues with it in relation to videos. I was taught how to make something called a screen recording and then shown how to send it to someone in an sms but when they got it, they couldn't see it as it was all small and blurry. Can this be fixed?

Also when I play a video from the internet and I want to see it fully, when I turn my phone around, it does not show on the screen properly. I use Edge browser on my phone and to watch the internet videos. Can this be fixed too? I have sent a photo to here to show what thaht looks like.

As I said, I am a bit of a numpty at all this. I am an older lady but I am fairly capable of following clear step by step instructions if anybody has any.

Good afternoon, everyone, and thank you for your time.

SarahL.

'Basic' texting does not support high-quality media, only RCS does (your phone should support it with he stock messaging app or using Google Messages, but for that to work, the recipient must also have RCS active/supported on their end). If RCS is not an option, you can upload it to a cloud service and share a link instead (Samsung makes this very easy via the Quick Share menu).

As for the videos showing up on 'full screen' or correct rotation, that does depend on the browser you are using and what the video resolution is. I recommend using the stock Internet browser or Google Chrome and see if that helps.

Welcome to Android Central! In addition, when you play an embedded video on a website, there is typically an onscreen button associated with the embedded video player to toggle Fullscreen viewing. Tap the video once to bring up the pause/play controls, and look for an icon that looks like the four corners of a rectangle, typically at the lower right.

Looks like we're all learning something today. I've never tried posting a screen recording here. If it doesn't work I'll post it to YouTube and link it here. In the meantime, welcome to Android Central forums.

I created the video to better explain the instructions everyone is giving about viewing videos in your browser in full screen. I included the touches so you could see where to look and what to touch. It goes kinda fast so maybe I'll also redo the video see if I can slow it down some too. But these are the steps.

Once you've found the video you would like to view being playback as normal.

Touch the screen inside the video area. This will cause the controls to briefly appear. They close after a second or two.

When the controls appear look in the lower right corner of the video, sometimes it will be in the upper right corner but once you know what you're looking for you will spot it where ever it appears. In the corner when the controls appear there will be a box, touch this to enter fill screen mode.

Then rotate the phone so the video isn't sideways. Lol.

To exit touch the screen just like before and find the box. It may change shape and look more like a cross indicating the corners are coming in making the video smaller but again once you know what to look for this will become second nature.

As for videos sent via text. Your method is good but your device is probably creating better videos than the one you learned this technique on. This means the video file is big, probably really big, and normal texting just will not allow you to send videos of this size. What happens is the phone will try to make the file smaller and to do this it reduces the video quality and that makes the video grainy and probably hard to watch. Alternatively you can share the video through Facebook, or you can back it up to your saved videos and share a link where the video will retain it's quality. At the end of the day there are probably very few videos that we really need to give people and way more that we just wan them to view.

RCS came up and it may be available to you depending on what app you use for messaging. Google Messages is probably the best for RCS but it requires the person you're sending the video to have it too. That can be a problem for some. Here are a couple of videos for you that I know will work.

You probably don't need this one but it's good information.

One last thing I'd like to leave you with is, ask YouTube. Sure we're a good source of information but we use a lot of words but even so pictures multiply that and goes away farther with understanding. YouTube is actually the number 2 search engine next to Google. Type your question just like you would in Google and you'll find there is probably a video about it.

Good luck and let us know if you still need help. //cloud.tapatalk.com/s/6858ee34a4dfa/Screen_Recording_20250623_020033_Samsung Internet.mp4

Hello,

Thank you so very much, all of you, for your wonderful help and advice. I will save this page for closer reading with my husband and I am sure we will both learn something new.

Thanks again, evevryone, and good morning.
