After the 4th time my power connection, at the lower right hand side, shorted out I am storing my view. At $80-$100 to repair the connector I give up on it.

Much like the Note 7 and the top loading washing machine both of which have been recalled, and yes I once owned both, the View suffers from pore design and pore manufacturing.

The DC jack cost is only few dollars but people jacks up the price because it's hard to find

The DC jack actually is not broken, only the red ( positive ) or black ( nagative ) loose the solder joint to pin of connector. You just need to cut the black insulation and resolder the wire.
It takes only 2 minutes for who knows how to solder.

This DC jack also is very easy to replace if you know how to remove the back cover. Take out 4 screws from the bracket holding the DC jack, take out the old one and replace with a new DC jack. It's a simple task but may be a challenge to novices.
