Hey folks. I just got the LG G2 the other day. It's my first Android device so I have been doing a lot of research and just playing around to learn this thing. I LOVE it so far. It is freakin' beautiful and super fast/efficient. The one problem I keep running in to is viewing my text messages on my lock screen. I prefer it how i had it on my old iphone where if my wife texted me it would pop up "New Text Message from Savannah: hey, blah blah". Sort of like that. From what I've read the way to do this is add widgets to your home screen and have to download an app that sends notifications to your home screen as well. I have downloaded Nils to help me out with that. I've tinkered and tonkered a lot and I keep getting the same screen when i get a text message. It lights up and looks just like this....

Usually it's something simple that I am overlooking so I wanted to ask you guys/gals for advice. Thanks, have a great day.

Handcent messaging app has a pop-up that wakes up the screen, you can even respond without unlocking the phone. Look for it in the Play Store.

Dynamic Notifications app in Play Store. Check it out.

You can get the free Verizon Messaging app. Has all the features you are looking for and works great.

I'm trying to figure out how to just see that there's a message. Not who it's from or the actual message. How do I do that? I have the lg g2
