I need help with viewing a shared outlook calendar. I have my outlook email account set up and synced to my Nexus 5, however I cannot seem to be able to view my Boss' calendar.

My gmail calendar items show in BLUE and my outlook calendar items show in RED, I want my shared calendar items to show as well (preferably a different colour). On my computer I can view my boss' calendar and I need this for work. As I work out of the office sometimes and need access to my boss' calendar I would like it to be on my mobile as well.

Our tech guy at work charges by the hour so I was hoping to see if anyone on here has done this on their own device.

All help is appreciated. Thanks.

The first thing I would check is to confirm that you have your boss' Outlook calendar set to sync to and display on your phone. Open the calendar app, click the three vertical dots in the upper right corner, and then select Calendars to Display from the menu. Scroll through the list, and see if your boss' calendar is listed. If it is, but isn't checked, then check it and you should be all set. If it is not listed, click Calendars to sync at the bottom of the screen, and see if it is listed there. Again, if it is listed, but isn't checked, check it and you should be all set. If it is not listed, this will mean that you need to add your boss' account to your phone. You can do that by clicking the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the main calendar app screen, and then clicking Add Account in the upper right corner. From there, simply follow the applicable prompts. Hopefully one of the above steps solves your problem.

Hi Ay,

This method works only if the boss is comfortable with sharing their emails as well.

I've to manage a couple of shared Outlook Exchange Calendars but as of today, still yet to find a solution where I have full editorial rights to the shared calendar on my android tablet (but not the emails). Seems like it a common woe among those who manage multiple calendars but have to work away from the PC as well.

Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe the OpenCal app from Play can do the trick for you. Both a paid and an ad supported version exists.

It does not integrate into your gmail calendar but allows you to see multiple shared Exchange calendars.

To show shared gmail calendars on android phones, some of you will have to install "google calendar" from Google Play and then try out the settings in that application. There's a "calendars to sync" options there which was simply not present in the pre-installed calendar on my Sony Xperia Z3. Thus I was not able to show my wife's calendar before installing Google Calender. You can then go back to using the calendar app of your choice.

Hello Nic_Gal,

My wife in the same predicament at work. She manages her calendar and her two bosses. She can see all three color-coded on her PC, but she cant get them to show on her mobile phone. Only hers shows.

Have you had any luck with this since your initial posting?

If so, please share.

Thank you! :)

Found an app in the Google Play store called Team Calendar Sync that has synced my 5 shared calendars. It was a tricky set up for me, which is usually NOT the case. But, since I couldn't get it running, I emailed the report when it gave me the option. The tech -- Sean McKeon -- emailed me the next day. Within the hour of trying things back and forth, he got it running on my phone with no issues. Still use the "calendar" app that Google/Android provided. Has EVERYTHING in one spot!

Absolutely ecstatic!!!! Best $5 ever spent!

Mary :D
