virgin mobile Samsung galaxy s3 won't update

I have a rooted samsung galaxy s3 on virgin mobile all stock, but when the Samsung update comes on to download it fails.... Any ideas why this is happening? My girlfriends samsung galaxy s2 updated fine i wonder if it's cause it's rooted and that i uninstalled some of the factory apps any help would be appreciated

i think you answered your own question yes its because you deleted factory apps thats what updated look for that you havent modified the phone to push the update revert to stoclk and flash the update

Generally speaking, once you root your phone you should forget about OTA updates. Your updates will have to come by flashing an updated (rooted) ROM. Things that will break OTA updates:
- installing an alternate Recovery (CWM; TWRP)
- removing/freezing factory apps
- root itself (the SuperUser binaries)
If you don't flash an alternate Recovery, and just freeze the bloatware, it is possible to accept OTAs by unfreezing the bloatware and using something like Voodoo OTA RootKeeper: http://market.android.com/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.otarootkeeper to temporarily "hide" the SuperUser binaries.
