Virtual Keyboard Lag?

I have an Incredible and ever since my phone did the upgrade to 2.2 OS my keyboard has been very laggy. If I go to fast or try to type too much at once it take a good 4-7 seconds for the keyboard to catch up.

At first I thought it was because I was using Hancent and that has given my phone issues before. So I uninstalled it and started using ChompSMS and it was ok for the first 5 minutes then it started to lag too. It's not just texting, on the web, in emails, in google chat, etc... anything that requires keyboard use has major lag.

Does anyone have this issue? Or can anyone give me some tips/suggestions on what I can do to fix this? My phone is all stock, not rooted or anything like that. It's starting to get extremly frustrating and while I LOVE my phone like my own child, I'm about 3 keyboard strokes away from throwing it at a wall (which I wont really do, but you get my point)

This is usually and issue on the EVO as well. Before Froyo, I could type as fast as I wanted and never had a problem. Now the phone will lag something if I am going really fast. I have noticed that if toy disable haptic feedback and don't use the the keyboard modes like compact qwerty, the phone will less likely to become stuck. Hopefully Incredible and EVO users will get an update soon that will fix this issue.
